Working with the guys at Sidney's Moto Club has placed me right dead center at a couple of very memorable motorcycle centric events. The most recent of these was a morning trip with the Denver based META magazine. This was META's first community ride, but there was no shortage of riders on our cruise through the hills.
As the Sidney's crew arrived at the moto magazine's headquarters, machines began lining up in the shade of dawn. Gas tanks were brimmed with fuel, and riders with coffee while we prepared to set off towards our alpine destination.
Finally, as engines from around the world started turning, we geared up to set off through denver. Our first stretch of riding was a blast down the highway towards the mountains where each of our two-wheelers would get some real exercise. The convoy of riders sliced through cold morning air and carved a winding path leaning in and out of banked turns towards Nederland, CO.
Though our fingers felt frozen, each and every motorcycle radiated heat from the climb uphill as we dismounted for a rest. After a necessary pit stop at a rustic tavern, we took a relaxed cruise down Boulder Canyon. The road serpentined along the creek, below towering rock walls which flanked us on both sides. Once we had all descended into Boulder, we made sure to take advantage of the newly finished amenities at the moto club. As lunch time fast approached us, everyone eventually left Sidney's in high spirits. What can I say, it was a great way to start a day.
